RUPERT
ADOPTED WITH LOVE

Rupert came into our home on a sunny September afternoon. His being nearly 1 & 1/2 yrs old he is part kitten and part adult couch potato. He didnt let the little fact of being the 'new kid on the block'
phase him in the least. There are several other cats living here that have been here a long time.
Rupert wandered, climbed & sniffed his way through the entire house. he left the basement for his 2nd day. Before the week was out his food bowl was right in line next to the others. he made himself at home that first afternoon. He's now one of the "Cat Pack'.
He certainly found his way into our hearts. he has a forever home with us.
HONEY PIE
ADOPTED WITH LOVE

Honey Pie is the greatest cat I had ever had. She really loves sleeping with my autistic daughter Jamie. My other cats don't really have much doing with her, but Honey Pie is very gentle and loving towards her. She is getting use to the dog but she is still scared at some point. She is a great lap cat and loves when I put catnip on her scratching post. She is very clean and well mannered. I know my other cats will love her after I move back into my house. I am so happy that Carol recommended her to our family. My mother loves Honey Pie also, she is very friendly with strangers. She doesn't hide out like my other cats. Thank you so much for taking such a great cat in your facility, I will be definitely telling other people to adopt from there.
Good luck shelter staff, I hope you will find another shelter or another group to combine. Lots of love, Cheryl Evans
KITTY
ADOPTED WITH LOVE

Hello Shelter Staff,
Just wanted to let you know I received the card with Kitty's picture and the details of her adoption. That was very unexpected and so thoughtful of you. I will find a frame for it.
As I mentioned earlier, Kitty is the most surprising feline I have ever encountered. I expected a frightened, hide for 3 days, cat to enter my home and received the total opposite. Upon coming into her new home, Kitty pretty much popped out of the carrier, paraded around the house for a few minutes meowing, and then very unexpectly started purring loudly and rubbing up agains the walls.
Since that moment, she has been everything I was looking for in a companion. She spends her days with me in my home office while I am at work and loves to retire for the evening on the bed while I watch some TV. She always wants to know where I am. She is definately a morning cat as each morning she "talks" and walks around on the bed telling me its time for breakfast. She is an absolute joy to have around.
Attached are some pictures of Kitty, her new home, and a couple of her ferret buddies.
Thanks for all the work you do. Having worked with ferret shelters for several years, I know what a time-demanding and sometimes heartbreaking job that can be. It takes some truly special people to selflessly give of themselves what they can to the overwhelming cat and dog population. I think the story on the Motor City Ferrets Home Page says it all.
An old man was walking along a beach after a particularly high and violent tide had receded, leaving thousands of starfish stranded above the waterline to die. Ahead of him he saw a youth, bending down and then standing to fling something into the waves. Coming closer, he saw the youth was tossing starfish back into the ocean where they had a chance to live. "Why bother?" the old man told the youth. "There are thousands here. You can't toss them all back before they die. You can't even toss a small fraction of them back in time. What you're doing doesn't matter."
The youth pondered that a moment, looking at the starfish he held in his hand.
"It matters to this one," he replied, and threw it back into the water.

Take care and best of luck with your mission.

CHARCOAL
ADOPTED WITH LOVE
Hi there, I just thought you might like to know that Charcoal is doing very well. He has adapted way faster than I expected, and has now inspected the whole house and has picked out his favorite spots. I have included a few pictures of him, he spends a lot of time in our library window. The kids are doing great with him, and the last two nights he has slept on the end of our oldest daughter's bed (much to her delight). Anyway, I wanted to let you know how well he is doing, and to also let you know that we are seriously considering bring home a friend for him now that we are sure the kids are ready. If you have any buddies that need a good home, that he got along with while there, please feel free to let us know.
