Foster Please!!

Caregivers are desperately needed to provide temporary shelter to our rescued animals. We cover ALL veterinarian expenses and, if needed, we will also provide the food, dishes, crates, litter, etc.

We’ll always be within a phone call of providing any assistance you need, such as guidance on housetraining techniques, leash training, or addressing behavior issues.

All you need to do is provide a safe haven for the animal, treat it with kindness and patience, participate with the pet in our Saturday adoption events, and respond promptly and honestly to any potential adopters we have approved.

Please open your heart and your home today. Help us save the life of an animal in need.

Volunteers Needed!!

We are searching for the following volunteers:

• GRANT RESEARCHER - A person with internet research skills to search out specific grant opportunities and follow through with grant request preparation.

• EVENT ORGANIZER - Anyone who would be willing to conduct a fundraiser on our behalf.

• KENNEL OWNERS - We desperately need a kennel owner or someone with kennel space to let us use one or two spaces on a regular basis.

We need cash donations, no matter the size, to continue rescuing, caring for, and placing our rescued pets into permanent homes. Donations help to cover veterinarian care and other major and incidental expenses such as crates and carriers, food and food dishes, litter, leashes, collars, and temporary ID tags.

Break the Cycle of Violence

There is a proven direct link between people who abuse animals and people who abuse people. Don’t tolerate this behavior any longer. Report animal abuse and you’ll probably save a child or spouse who is also being abused.

Teach your child to be kind to animals and save him/her from developing other anti-social and inhumane behaviors. Children learn from their parents. Be a good example.

Leash training puppies.

• Attach leash to collar. Let him drag it around for awhile in yard.

• Pick up leash & walk with him around yard. Do not tug.

• Go in front of pup, leash extended. Face pup & crouch down in front of him. Call pup to come to you. Tell him to sit, holding treat above his head. Give treat. Stand up, walk backwards a few steps & repeat. Then, turn around & walk forward. He will follow. “Good boy.”

• While walking, change direction whenever he starts to tug & he will follow. Praise often.

• Practice 2 or 3 times a day until he is comfortable on leash. Then take him out to see his world.
